Hello
everyone out there in the outside world! Here in Copan it is...well...hot once
again. Supposedly an unheard of cold front came into the area, and that was the
reason why it has been cold for awhile. But, now the cold has gone away and we
spend the day sweating once again. But then the sun sets and welcomes the
deliciousness of cool weather once again. But I still miss all this snow that
we are talking about!
Well, this week we had
our annual Christmas party as a mission in the San Pedro Sula area! HUZZAH! It
was pretty dang fun, I got to see almost all of my friends, hear some awesome
talents, watch hilarious Christmas videos...basically just enjoy myself. President
Veirs talked to us a WHOLE BUNCH about Joseph Smith. We learned so much about
him, his mission, what he did, what he learned, who he was, what attributes he
had...I now know without a doubt in my mind that that man was a prophet of God,
one of the most elect spirits in the pre-existence to come to the Earth and
effect the Restoration. I love him and my Mission President...unfortunately for
all the other missions in the world...he is the best President out there. Can't
beat him! And, the big news is, is that
President Veirs has extended the missions of every single missionary in this
mission by 2 weeks! So, don't be expecting me early now!
Now, to be honest, it
wasn't as good as last year. We didn't do a tie trade...we didn't get new
pillows again (but after 1 year we shouldn't need new ones!)...but maybe all of
it happened. I just had to leave early because the buses to get out here to
Copan stop leaving early because it takes forever to get out here. Well,
Tuesday we came out for our District Meeting and ended up just staying there
instead of wasting time and money going out and coming back. Then, Wednesday,
we missed the last bus! So...turns out we had to head back in a bus to La
Entrada just HOPING that our District Leader had left his keys so we could get
in (he had a doctor's appointment). Luckily, he did and we weren't stranded
outside...but we definitely were not equipped for it!
So, due to that craziness
we didn't have a lot of incredible experiences this week...well...that one was
pretty dang incredible. But apart from that, just getting out and trying to
work as hard as we can. We ended up with some pretty low numbers this week, but
we are committed to doing a whole lot better!
And today, we had to
supervise while they installed internet in the church house here. We met a man
from Tegucigalpa who was overseeing the whole thing and he invited us to lunch!
HUZZZAAAAHH! I ate a delicious Garlic Pasta with a lettuce salad underneath, Jamaica
juice, and the Honduras twist of tortillas on the side. Mmmm, I can still taste
the garlic now!
So, all is well in
Copan Ruinas! Life continues on, and the work of the Lord progresses!
Vaya Pues!
